Case IH 5 – Electronic Hitch Controller (CFPS or GCM1) or Digital Instrument Cluster (EIC): Wheel speed zero when radar is indicating ground speed.
Descrizione del problema
This code triggers when the tractor's electronic system detects a discrepancy between two speed inputs. The radar sensor is successfully reading ground movement (indicating the tractor is in motion), but the wheel speed sensor (output speed sensor) is reporting 0 mph/kph. This mismatch usually points to a failure in the wheel speed sensor circuit, a misaligned radar, or a damaged speed pickup disc.

Verifica la causa
Check the instrument panel to see if the correct tractor speed is being displayed at all.
Inspect the relevant fuses (e.g., fuse 9) that supply power to the speed and radar circuits.
Check the wheel speed sensor and radar sensor connectors for dirt, corrosion, or loose pins.
Verify the tractor performance monitor radar alignment. Ensure it is not physically misaligned, loose, or obstructed by heavy mud/debris.
Inspect the wheel speed pickup disc for physical damage.
Use a multimeter to test the wiring harness for open circuits or short circuits to ground.
Passaggi di riparazione
Turn off the ignition, apply the parking brake, and secure the tractor.
Ensure the tractor is safely secured before beginning any diagnostic or repair work.
Locate the wheel speed sensor and the radar sensor.
The wheel speed sensor is typically mounted on the transmission or axle housing, and the radar sensor is usually mounted under the cab or chassis.
Disconnect the wiring harness from both sensors.
Prepare the harness for continuity testing.
Test the harness for continuity.
Using a multimeter, check for a short circuit to ground or an open circuit (for example, check the resistance between the connector pins and ground).
Repair or replace the wiring harness.
If the multimeter indicates an open or shorted circuit in the wiring, repair the damaged wires or replace that section of the harness.
Replace the wheel speed sensor or the radar assembly.
If the harness and power supply test good, the fault lies within the sensor hardware. Replace the wheel speed sensor (the most common culprit for a 'zero' reading) or the radar assembly.
Reconnect harnesses, clear fault codes, and test drive.
Reconnect all harnesses, clear the fault codes from the instrument cluster/hitch controller, and test drive the tractor to verify that the wheel speed and radar speed now match.
