This universal-joint shaft transmits torque from the tractor’s power take-off to the header’s input driveline. It connects the tractor-side splined coupling to the header-side clamping screw, accommodating changes in length as the header moves through its operating range. The shaft is designed to handle the power and torque requirements of the driven header components. A worn or damaged shaft can cause driveline vibration and uneven power delivery, leading to accelerated wear on the gearbox input. On installation, ensure the clamping screw is tightened to the correct torque and that the spline engagement is fully seated.
